Every day after a new tour of Berlin, John and I return to our quiet, residential street and the gate to the courtyard of our apartment building.
Right next door to the gate is Little Saigon, a Vietnamese-Thai restaurant,
run by this charming resident of the building.
As you can see, John is already pouring himself a Thai beer at the outside table while we await our lunches.
Now let's walk through our courtyard,
with its many parked bicycles, flowering trees,
cobbled pathway,
and flowering gardens.
Strawberries are in bloom.
There's even a fountain surrounded by roses just about to open.
Now just turn the corner
and we're home.
