Bill and I attended a vocal recital in Rome last night in the Sala dell'Immacolata in the Convento Ss. XII Apostoli -- around the corner from the Basilica of Santi Giovanni e Paolo.
The Sala dell'Immacolata looked like a church basement but the acoustics were superb.
Soprano Tiziana Guaglianone and pianist Marco Scolastra wowed the crowd of aficionados with a program of songs by Schumann, Berlioz, Strauss, Donizetti and Bellini.
Guaglianone's beautiful voice rang out in the intimate room.
We were so glad that we went. We certainly won't miss the next concert in this series.
What a beautiful blue dress against that striking red background.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a wonder to hear her incredible voice, Shelley. To think we almost didn't find the location and were about to give up on attending the recital.
