During this last trip to the Big Apple the Empire State Building, that beautiful, Deco, Manhattan icon kept appearing to me as John and I wandered the streets.
Sometimes it was a bit shy and hid in the mist, but always worthy of a portrait.
Sometimes it was draped in theatrical mystery like this rainy night appearing behind the School of Visual Arts Theatre across the street from our hotel.
Another time it peeked above the High Line Garden while we visited the Chelsea Galleries.
More than ever it became a landmark for navigating the city much like the CN Tower back home in Toronto. I wonder if this was because the lower buildings below 34th Street allowed it to appear more often than usual.
