It's peony time in Rome. We couldn't resist bringing home a bouquet from our local market, the Mercatino di Piazza delle Coppelle.
This morning the peonies were lovely -- just out of the bud.
By this afternoon they were already opening up.
This evening they made a perfect setting for a light dinner of aglio e olio (garlic-infused oil on spaghetti with pecorino Romano cheese) with a tomato salad.
