Re-read H. P. Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness", which I adore? Continue with Sherlock Holmes? Read some more David Hockney, who's as much fun to read on art as Pauline Kael was on movies?
I've settled on Kate Mosse's Labyrinth (parallel 13th and 21st century stories where our heros hide and perhaps rediscover the Holy Grail in Languedoc, France). The reliable Susan Hill said she liked it and I need something fat to read on my week off work.
Bill made the sandwiches. What a sweetie! Ontario tomatoes with gruyere cheese. Delicious!
