Bill and I are going to be bouncing back and forth between Rome and Toronto in these posts as we work through our hundreds of pictures and enjoy life in our home city.
We were glad we got out, yesterday evening, to Gareth Bate's latest Open Studio show at 401 Richmond Street West, Toronto. Bate was showing his exquisite "Moments" paintings. Bill and I visited Gareth's studio about 6 weeks ago, when we first noticed them being posted to his website. It was fun to see the series finished and grouped on the wall.

Most of them are 8"x 8" acrylics on wood. Many have been collected as diptychs and triptychs. Above is "Rain Storm Clearing Stars", 2010.
That's Graham Jackson -- Gareth's partner, in the middle, flanked by Bate's friends, Arlene Moskovich and William Kimber.
Everyone wanted to see Arlene standing beside this canvas.
The Moments paintings are terrific. Here's one of my favourites:
"Blue Sky Green Sky", diptych, 2010.
Thanks John. These look great.
