2nd-Favourite Paris Bar

The Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (MAM) has a lovely café, and you'll find it within sight of the Eiffel Tower across the pedestrian bridge of the Musée Quai Branley. It is also a short walk from the Guimet Museum of Asian Art and the Museum of Fashion.
Bill and I went many times for a drink after visiting one of these museums.
The architecture surrounding the café could not be grander. Pure Deco. Built in 1937 for one of Paris'   many International Expositions.
Yet we found the experience quite intimate.
I often started with a can of beer, then Bill and I shared a half bottle of Côte du Rhone. Total bar bill, 8.10 euros. Can't beat that in Paris.
We always found a gentle breeze there.
And a nice view of the Seine,
a view that both visitors to Paris and locals also seem to take time to enjoy.
It was fun to watch the other diners.
It was fun to look up.
A lone bus-boy kept the place tidy.
And after our drink there was always the lure of the museum book shop,
behind these great Art Deco doors.
We dithered over which Markus Lüpertz catalogue to buy, deciding, finally on the official catalogue (on the right). A keepsake of many happy memories in one of the grandest, least expensive, most welcoming cafés in Paris.
