Howard Hodgkin at Gagosian Rome

Larry Gagosian is one of the premier gallerists active today with two galleries in New York, another in London, another in Paris and eight more around the world, so Bill and I were very excited to discover he had a gallery in Rome.
We were even more excited when we learned that he was showing new paintings (oil on wood) by one of our favourite contemporary artists, British painter Howard Hodgkin.
The Rome gallery has some small rooms off a large, bright, circular space.
I was arrested by Porlock (2012) in the First Room.
Bill and I loved Seaside (2011-2012) in the Oval.
The show closes this Saturday, May 4th. If you go, don't miss An Open Door (2008-2011) in the Second Room at the back. This was Bill's favourite.
We thought the art had sharpened our senses as we stepped out into via Franceso Crispi.

  1. Such lush work, what a treat to see this exhibit - I've always loved Howard Hodgkin's art. A link in case anyone wants to buy the catalogue (did you get one?)
